Hahnemann Learning & Resource Centre gained UK Online Status on January 10th 2007. This allows us to be part of a government supported project of 6000+ centres, using computers and the internet to help those who are most socially excluded.

We now have access to additional support and training and will, in the future, be able to offer additional learning products and services to our users as well as supported access to online e-government services. eg: DWP, Jobcentre, Health, Local Authority, etc.

Learning Centre | Learn Direct UK eLearning

The Learning Centre at Hahnemann House has been running since May 2006 in the converted Chapel room.

Since then more and more mental health service users have come to try their computer and internet skills and to learn and develop new ones. Use of the centre has built up rapidly and we are currently running at between 140 and 170 service user visits a month - and we only open 3.5 days a week!

We offer familiarisation and training in basic computer skills and use of the internet on an ongoing basis, where this is needed....

The aim is to build up confidence and provide skills to give choice and opportunity for further adult education in the future and for employment
. To this end, we have recently been able to offer training in Maths, English and further IT skills through our association with Learn Direct UK.

We run Learn Direct supported access sessions on Tuesdays and Wednesdays each week.

Each Tuesday afternoon, Bob Harrison, our Learndirect outreach providor, is available to supervise learning, take enrollment and answer any questions on courses.

Once enrolled each student can log in to their online account at any time to access their course work via audio - visual learning. Courses can be provided free of charge once proof of ID and of receipt of benefits has been produced.

There has been much interest expressed in learning foreign languages and to that end we have set up a number of user online accounts on the BBC website and are providing supported access to that site for introductory French and German.
